About me

-I have 8+ years experience in marketing and 14+ years of working as a freelancer, running my own businesses and working as a proofreader/editor. -I have worked with charities, organisations and businesses to help them improve their marketing processes, content, strategy, impact, awareness and delivery, including evaluation. -I understand the pressures of working in-house in a charity and how you need your investments to deliver well. -I am friendly, approachable and diligent. I have two kids and a busy life so I know how to manage a lot of plate juggling, as well as the day job! -I love working with people. I love to discover how they work best, how to get the outcomes wanted and how to create a supportive team feel. If I've learned anything from years of teaching, freelancing, in-house work and management, it's that when people are happy and feel heard, things tend to work much better!

-I believe in transparency and clear communication. This means clear objectives, realistic goals, celebrating successes and talking through obstacles that may arise. Not every project will go according to plan but it's how we respond and learn from it that matters, especially in marketing. -Creativity is key. This could mean trying out new approaches, giving different options for a campaign or approach, A/B testing, or using analytics to assess which way to go next. You bring the brand guidelines and strategy, and I can bring new ideas. -Staying strategic. Marketing needs to be aligned with your short and long-term goals so whatever we do together, we need to check back in with what you're hoping to achieve. You might have key objectives or a whole strategy outlined, so we need to keep the marketing relevant and on track. -Asking questions and learning. I like to ask questions and I like when people ask me questions. Questions are great for learning and clarifying. Sometimes they're difficult to answer but that usually means a bit more clarity is needed so asking questions is definitely a superpower! If it doesn't make sense to you or me, it won't make sense to your audiences. -Working with respect. Everyone's time and voices are important. I want my clients to feel respected and listened to, and I expect the same in return. This also goes for your ideal clients and audiences - they want to feel seen and respected so I keep this in mind when doing your marketing or tasks. Building relationships are two way processes and I keep this in mind as I work.

-I'm honest, reliable and want the best for you and your organisation/charity. -I'm a people person and I love to forge good relationships that make a project excel. -I love good grammar and punctuation. -I've worked as a freelancer, employee and for myself so I know a lot of the challenges associated with each path. -I won't use AI to create content, it will be human generated. I only use AI to pull out summaries from long documents or for simple tasks like cutting down descriptions for tagging. Writing and creating is a joy for me so I don't want a computer to take that task!
